Those are great gains for not much done to the car. That 2.3 seems to be 100x better than the 2.0.

It sounds like it is a tune in combination with a filter, airbox, and the required mounting hardware. It sounds like Ford was a bit cautious with the default intake and tune. They also have a habit of doing what they can to make sure that other cars in the range don’t steal sales away from the Mustang (see the 80s Thunderbird and the Merkur XR4Ti) so it is possible the default tune is set up to create a larger gap to the V8.

Agreed. The 2.3 seems to fix all the problems the 2.0 had. I’d love to see an engineer tear them down and compare them side by side. :)
